Hey, sleepy heads!
Looks like nothing can wake these adorable twin polar bear cubs from their slumber – even when one tries to nestle closer to the other. And, really, who can blame them? Their mama's fur looks pretty darn cozy!
The 3-week-olds were born Dec. 9 at the Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich, Germany, to mom Giovanna, 7, and dad Yogi, 14. Their birth was recorded by cameras installed in the birthing pen and the connecting corridor to the main pen, the first time a panda birth has been filmed in color worldwide.
Though Giovanna is a first-time mom, curator Beatrix Köhler says she's impressed with the way the polar bear has adapted to motherhood. "[She] is caring for her twins very capably as if she were an experienced mother," Köhler said.
